I saw this poor fellow last week during an early snowfall in upstate New York. We normally don't get 5-8" of snow during Thanksgiving. Perhaps this guy has never seen snow before. That, or he moved to Florida after living in New York for a while. But the former is a far more entertaining prospect.

Also, I found myself in a rather interesting quandary. The girl I am currently dating is in Rochester for NYSSMA Allstate, which is a New York high school music thing. One of her roommates, as it turns out, is one of my ex-girlfriends... awkward. I'll take the "keep quiet unless she asks me about it" approach.

I think I know what you're talking about... That would be funny. Or maybe not.

Almost no one is born in Florida. It's almost guaranteed that he's from that area and visiting family.

That's true. Especially when the population is 80% retirees.

When I was in the military I had Texas plates on but generally lived in cold climates. I'd get 'Have you ever seen snow before?' or ridiculous tips about how to drive in the snow. Humorous for a little while then, after a while, obnoxious.

Not as bad as the time I told a lady I grew up in Oklahoma and she asked, seriously, if teepees were uncomfortable and a pain to set up and take down as we moved around...and if I knew what a bridge was...then offered to drive me to a bridge so I could see one. So weird.

This lady's confusion was somewhat valid up until the teepee part.

Also, how can they not know it snows in NM...you'd think they'd at least be familiar with Taos if nothing else...

People.

I now work in a call center in Albuquerque dealing with service calls and its a daily issue with people not knowing its part of the US. The complaints from southern and east coast customers were so bad that this company was "outsourcing to Mexico" with our Albuquerque call center that corporate had to issue a policy to only refer to our location as Albuquerque and not mention New Mexico at all to avoid complaints.

Call center life. When I worked in them we weren't allowed to give our location at all because they were afraid that disgruntled customers would act upon threats if they knew where we were located.

I guess they figure no one would make a trip way out here to BFE to act on it LOL.
